CV/Bio

David Williams is a photographer, living in New York.  Born in Brooklyn in 1950.  He received his first camera, a Kodak brownie, from his mother and grandmother in 1958.  From then on, an interest in photography developed.  To this day, he still owns this camera, and has fond memories of its use.

He has printed in the traditional darkroom, favoring highly saturated silver bromide paper.  More recently, he has come to appreciate the marriage of film an digital imaging.

The images of Spain and Sicily, the Abstractions and the Atmosphere Series are digital images printed on an elegant museum etching paper exhibiting an almost fourth dimensional quality.

Though self taught, he has had exposure to some of the great master printers, including Fred Picker and John Saxton.

He has exhibited in the Smithtown Gallery, Smithtown, New York; the Rockaway Artist Alliance, Rockaway Park, New York; Art Frenzy, Rockaway Park, New York, Shades of Silver; Metropoolitan Transit Authority of New York; Images Gallery of Contemporary Art, New York.  His work can also be found in private collections.
